Easy ERD turns CREATE TABLE statements into an interactive entity-relationship diagram you can label, search, and export. No signup, no install, and your schema never leaves your browser.
Most schema diagram tools ask you to create an account, learn their own modeling language, or upload your DDL to someone else's server. For a client schema or an internal database, that is a non-starter. Easy ERD is a static web page. You paste SQL, you get a diagram, and that is the whole workflow.
ALTER TABLE constraints; schema-qualified names..sql file, or reopen a saved project file.Everything you paste, upload, tag, and export stays in your browser. There is no server that receives your SQL, and no account to tie it to. Your work autosaves in this browser's local storage, which you can clear at any time.
To learn how many people use the tool, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which records anonymous page views: which page was opened, the referring site, and the visitor's country, browser, and device type. It uses no cookies and does not identify individual visitors. It never sees your SQL, table names, file names, or anything else you enter. If you open your browser's network tab, you will see that one analytics request to this site's own domain, and nothing carrying your schema.
| Tool | Great at | Where Easy ERD differs |
|---|---|---|
| dbdiagram.io | Quick diagrams written in its DBML language | You paste the SQL you already have instead of learning and translating to DBML. |
| drawDB | Designing a schema visually from scratch | Built for the opposite direction: start from existing DDL and understand it fast, with tags for large schemas. |
| Liam ERD | Polished diagrams for developer docs | Interactive editing, tagging, and draw.io export in one paste-and-go page. |
| SchemaSpy | Documenting a live database with full metadata | No Java, no database connection, no setup. Works from a SQL file in seconds. |
| Mermaid erDiagram | Diagrams as text inside markdown | You do not hand-write syntax, and layout is draggable. |
Based on each tool's public pages as of October 2026. These are good tools and the right pick for many jobs.
